The planned Theme and details of the programme is follows

 

April 20 Friday

9 am - 10 am

Registration and preliminary interactions

10 am - 11 am

Inauguration

11 am - 1 pm

Key Note Speaker - "Advaitha and Madhyamika (Buddhist) Philosophy - Similarities".  There could be similarities between Sage Nagarjuna's Madhyama Marga Philosophy in Buddhism and Sankara's Advaitha philosophy.  Researchers who did comparative studies could make paper presentation.

2 - 5 pm

"Relevance of Advaitha Philosophy in today's world of cultural / religious conflicts".  There are many reasons for conflicts between different ideologies.  The objective is to clear the lack of understanding between different philosophies.

 

April 21 Saturday

9 am - 1 pm

"Tracking the Historical / other evidences to decide the birth and life period of Adi Sankara".  There are differences of opinion on the birth and life period of Adi Sankara.  Some experts argue it is in the 8th Century AD and others say it is in the 6th century BC.  The stage is open for a discussion and hopefully an agreement at the end to decide the hypothesis that is agreeable to all.

2 - 5 pm

"Possible interaction between Adi Sankara and other religious philosophies".  If Adi Sankara was born in the 6th Century BC, he must have influenced other religious thoughts or if he was born in the 8th Century AD, he must have been influenced by other religious philosophies.

 

April 22 Sunday

9 am - 1 pm

"Areas of Researches required in the life and works of Adi Sankara - Presentation of Research Proposals".  There are many areas where the scholars feel further researches are required.  Idea is to list all the topic areas with incomplete information to enable researchers and institutions to look into the matter for further research seriously.

2 - 5 pm

"Possible interaction between Adi Sankara and other religious philosophers" Contd ... (or can have a topic suggested during the initial promotional activities

There will be Vedic chanting for 30 minutes every day before the seminar begins. Also there will be Yoga demonstration in the evenings.
There will be Pre-Seminar and Post-Seminar Tours in Kerala / South India for the national and international delegates (participants).  
Registration Fee:
US$ 30 per day = US$ 90 for the whole programme for international delegates and 
Rs. 500 per day = Rs. 1,500 for the whole seminar for delegates from developing countries.

Last date to receive abstract papers for the seminar - Feb 28 
Registration closes for the Seminar participation - March 31
